Soup for the Soul

Ah, such a very busy day - paper work, phone calls, meetings - I wouldn't change a thing. For one thing, I was home a lot, and made soup, which always makes me feel good. It was Pat's favorite, Split Pea. At the end of the day, I took some to a friend who just lost her husband. Soup can't really make much of a difference in the face of wrenching, raw pain, I guess. But then again, maybe it can, and that's why we try. It was the kind of day that leaves you knowing that in spite of everything that points to the contrary, life is good.

  1. Hi! I'm a friend of your daughters and saw a link to this from Debbie. Welcome to the blog-osphere!

As the daughter of someone who lost her husband (my dad) a couple years ago, the soup itself maybe didn't soothe your friend's pain, but the gesture helped. I know it did.
